This module introduces the environmental issues and the influences that built environment causes to the natural environment. It intends to explore the various sustainable practices and understandings of policies related to sustainable design and practices. 

PROJECT 1

Built Environment and Environmental Impact

In this project, we have to review articles related to our environmental theme “CLIMATE CHANGE & OZONE LOSS” and relate to the relevant SDG goals. The final outcome is to present the critical points using an interactive poster that includes video, images, videos, data and detailed explanation.

PROJECT 2

Exploring local architecture or built environment (BE) responses to specific SDG goals and targets

The second project aims to create awareness of the SDG goals and and how the built environment is responding to it. Our group selected the SP Setia Corporate HQ in Shah Alam and I’m exploring SDG 11, sustainable cities and communities. Appropriate diagrams are required to explain the strategies adopted to the sustainable building.

Reflection

Through this project, I’m more aware of local and global environmental issues and concerns related to the built environment. This module has also taught me to start a conservation on how the built environment may help  achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
