Project 2
Designing with Architectural Principles + Materiality
In this project, we have to further explore the architectural principles from Project 1, where we chose natural light and shadows, natural ventilation and hierarchy.
From that, our task is to design an Introspective Architectural Folly that has spatial experience that challenges how we frame ourselves, our relationship with nature and others during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Outcome: A set of drawings including diagrams, floor plan (1:5), section and elevations (1:50), detail drawing (1:50, key drawing and models (1:50).
The design intends on creating a holistic experience and spatial illusion of the structure that expresses a powerful dialogue creating curiosity with the folly. It illustrates part of the journey in our life represented by the different levels in the folly, bringing the message of not giving up, keep self exploration.

Reflection
It was my pleasure working with my partner and having an overall satisfied outcome. This project challenged me to think critically in creating a space and qualities through conceptualisation. Besides, I learned more about timber and its details to capture the experiential qualities of the design through this project.
